About Us
We build the intelligence layer between a strategy and the people who have to execute it.
Most leaders finish the plan. They communicate the direction. Something doesn't translate. Pulse was built for that gap: the distance between what leadership intended and what the team is actually carrying.
ALIGNMENT MAP
Why we started
"Leaders had feelings they couldn't act on because they didn't have evidence."
That was the pattern. Tom Dumbacher, a school counselor, had a student he worried about for months. By the time the data caught up, the window for early intervention had closed. The same story kept coming from every kind of leader: executive directors, chiefs of staff, principals. Different organizations, identical gap.
From sensing to knowing
Every leader has the feeling that something isn't translating. Pulse turns that feeling into evidence you can act on before it becomes a crisis.
Built by listening
We spent years in rooms with practitioners. The tools they had were built for tracking what was trackable. Pulse was built for what mattered.
Trust before insight
Data produced under surveillance isn't honest. Pulse is designed for the conditions that produce honest signal. That's why it's called trust architecture.
Our commitment
We keep building what the people doing the work say they need.
Pulse started inside Exponent Group, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that builds tools for organizations doing good. That origin still shapes every product decision we make.
- Respect your team's time and attention in every deployment
- Use data to surface context, not enable surveillance
- Design for adoption, not dashboard theater
- Make every feature accountable to whether it closes the gap
DESIGNED TO TRACK ALIGNMENT OVER TIME
The vision
Organizations where leaders can see what's coming before it becomes a crisis.
Not better dashboards. Not smarter surveys. Organizations where the distance between what leaders think is happening and what is actually happening is small enough to act on in real time.
We're early. The gap is real. The positioning is unclaimed. And the organizations that most need this tool are the ones doing the work that matters. That's where we're building.
If this sounds like what you've been looking for, let's talk.
30 minutes. Founder to leader. No pitch deck. Just a conversation about what you're trying to build and whether Pulse can help.
